Backlunds Bageri - Bistro - Bar

This is a nice and friendly café/ bakery/restaurant just at water front. I did not eat here any main food, just had a coffee for a few times - always strong and good. A very nive place to sit inside or outside, depending on the weather.

Very charming waiters! Perfect fish 'n chips. Nice outdoor space. Very tasty elderflower lemonade. Lots of delicious cakes to choose from. A little trouble getting the right bill. Still waiteing for the first to be refounded! Guess it will happen soon. Be sure you have the right bill! Maybe half our fault, because we changed table due to some weather change...

A mountain of shrimp on a sourdough toast. The amount of food might be appealing to some but my impression is that they use quantity to compensate for an imperfect taste.nnThe place was almost empty when we arrived, still several tables were not wiped clean. For 250+kr for a sandwich you expect it to be delivered to the table, but instead you pickup by a counter. We asked the waiters to clean the tables which they arguably did immediately.nnRoom is “decorated” with tacky wallpaper and shelves are lined with cheap bottles of wine. It doesn’t make for a great impression and feels like the owners are missing out on a genuinely great location and venue. Then again, maybe being cheap on service and interiors is sufficient because there really aren’t that many interesting options open in Strömstad during winter.

We had the dagens lunch vegetarian lasagna and schnitzel and both were pretty good and it was reasonably priced 119 SEK. Unfortunately the tables were not cleaned, which is not nice especially in times of covid. Therefore we can only give 4 stars.nnWe also took some fikabröd to go and they had one of the best kanelbulle I had so far!

Very nice place. Had a nice vegetarian bun, and a pink smoothie. Tasted good and the people were very friendly
