My husband and I are American tourists who wanted to eat at Bakfickan based on recommendations for their seafood. Earlier in the day we stopped to see if we needed reservations and were told they don't take them. We returned for an early dinner and were given a choice to sit inside or outside and were seated promptly, though a line formed shortly afterwards. We ordered a bottle of wine, lobster rolls, grilled monk fish, and fish soup based on other reviews. Bread, crispbread and butter were given while we waited for our meal. All of the food was delicious, but we especially liked the lobster rolls and grilled fish that also came with lobster, which is sweeter and softer than what we eat in the States. For others interested in Bakfickan, don't expect a quick meal. All of the restaurants in the square are busy in tourist season. Go early if you want to be seated quickly and enjoy the atmosphere while you wait.
Very delicious charming place.nI had the fried herring, so so good, and the local saffron ‘pancake’ different, wasn’t expecting a crunch of nuts but still really nice.
Fabulous place. Service very friendly and fast, food simply perfect - fish halibut very tender, combination of the flavours in the sauce very creative and very well matching, mussels soft and tasty.nSorbet and pancake surprisingly not so sweet which we found good.nKloster and Pils full taste beers.nInterior very cozy with many cute decorations.nOverall, 100 % recommend to go.
Lovely staff an delicious food!! The fried herring was perfectly balanced and the serving sizes were generous.nnHowever, the interior design and overall vibe felt pretty cheap compared to the quality of the dishes served.
If you enjoy eating fish then you must visit this restaurant. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and every dish we ate was delicious. Fish restaurants can be very expensive but we found the prices here to be very reasonable given the quality.
