Story

In the beautiful forrest outside of Älmhult there is a hidden treasure. A unique meeting space especially designed for learning and development, creative processes and business meetings that need privacy.

be.out of office
We welcome one group at the time to take a ”time out” from the everyday busyness. The closeness to nature and feeling of being at home contributes to a relaxed and still highly focused environment.

We offer a space that we ourselves as leaders in a intense business life have longed for, but never experienced. A place that inspire and support groups to slow down and be together, collaborating in a new and more conscious way. With more presence and deeper connection to eachother and the group and business purpose. A space that contributes to a sustainable development of people, groups and business.

Beyond flipcharts and post-its
The founders of be.businessretreat have extensive experience as leaders and facilitators for strategic business meetings and group development processes. We know what is required of a meeting space to fully support your process. Flexibility in the use of spaces, easy access to areas for pause and reflection both indoors and outdoors, food served when you need it and creative and surprising workshop material is our basic offer.

The creation of be.business retreat starts from a passion to support groups to collaborate in new ways. For the groups that want to, we also offer support to design the flow of your meeting to optimise the outcome and if needed we can also step in as a neutral facilitator for the process.

be.creative: our meeting spaces
We have two meeting spaces of about 50m2 for about 15-20 people - but no ordinary conference rooms.

On the first floor you find an open dining/living room space where you work around the kitchen table, just like having the meeting in one of your collegues home. This room is suitable for a management or business team meeting. This is also where all meals are served. In this room there are also a lounge area with sofas and a fireplace where you can gather for more informal conversations or group discussions.

On the second floor you find our creative, open room, designed for group processes, trainings and workshops. It is a light and spacious room overlooking the forrest, with generous space for flipcharts, posters, movable whiteboards etc. It can also be divided and used for group work. We will furnish this room according to your needs.

be.at home
During your stay you borrow one of our 15 guest rooms, all single rooms with your own bathroom. The home like experience from the common spaces is present also here and the feeling is more like staying at a friends home, than in a traditional hotel room. This is your own privated island and sacred space.

be.sustainable: do least possible harm
be.business retreat is created from the core value of doing least possible harm. The house is placed in a natural meadow in the forrest where we have taken down only the trees we needed. The house is built from wood from the forrest in this area of Sweden. The daily operations are planned to be as sustainable as possible. We have used the checklist from Svanen from start (Swedish eco certification) and plan to apply for a certification as soon as we can.

be.healthy: caring for you and the environment
We choose to challenge the traditional ”conference diet” and are proud to offer a completely new and whole food experience. Expect a culinary retreat!

We believe in food cooked with love – beautiful and with fantastic flavors. We belive in food that is good for you: clean and healthy, filled with nutrients and energy. We believe in food with least possible impact on the environment. Without being rigid and orthodox.

Based on these beliefs, our food concept have a vegetarian starting point, with a touch of raw food. All meals are experiences, adapted to the season, what is grown locally and as far as possible ecological. You can expect fresh ingredients and spices, juices and smoothies and snacks that are delicious, luxurious AND healthy. Yes – that is possible! You will enjoy meals so well composed that we dare to say that most people will not even miss the meat. If a group specifically request it, of course we serve certified fish or locally produced meat. But our challenge to you is - why not dare to try something different!?

be.outside (the box)
There is a lot of research confirming how important nature is for our wellbeing and focus and how we take better decisions and feel better when we are allowed to engage all aspects of our selves: head, heart, belly/gut and body. And it is also wellknown that many of our best and innovative ideas are born in a pause when the brain can let go of ”doing” and active thinking and instead are allowed just to be. Who hasn´t had a ”shower moment”?

We encourage our guests to maximise the closeness to nature, both for activity and relaxation. Why not break up the process in the full group with a walking reflection, take the coffee/tea with you and enjoy a walk during the break or start or end the day with a physical exercise?

The forrest offer a lot of beautiful trails for walking, running or mountain biking and we have created some deliberate spaces for reflection. We offer meditation and yoga ourselves and we collaborate with local enthusists to offer other activities of your choice.

be.first: welcome to book your business retreat!
As we welcome one group at the time, you will have our full attention and we can adapt the experience according to your needs. We have basic offers including food, accomodation and meeting service from 5 days to one day. As the price will vary depening on your specific requests, we always make a customized offer for each request.

We are ready to welcome our first guest by end of January 2015 and we welcome bookings from now on.
