Bachelor and Master Programme in Biology
We at Karlstad University are pleased to announce our new Master Programme in Biology with specialisation in Ecology and Conservation Biology
The program is led by researchers from the River Ecology and Management group (http://www.nrrv.se/english/) at the Department of Environmental and Life Studies, Karlstad University (http://www.kau.se/en/biology). We are located on the banks of Scandinavia’s longest river, on the shores of the EU’s largest lake. We have field studies located throughout Sweden, with international cooperation throughout Europe and North America. We also house the largest indoor stream aquarium facility in Sweden, where research on stream ecology is conducted year round (http://www.kau.se/en/biology/stream-aquarium-laboratory). Close cooperation with faculty, researchers, and graduate students with a strong commitment to Stream Ecology Program prepares you for further research or for employment in Sweden and abroad.
The program can be read on campus or by distance learning. Please note distance students have 1-3 obligatory meetings at Karlstad University each term.
The application period is 15 March – 15 April for Fall 2014. There is no tuition fee for EU students, and Karlstad University has a housing guarantee for students enrolled in programmes. For more information see: http://www.kau.se/en/education/programmes/NABIO).
