cosy cafe located at one end of the walking street in haga, serving deliciously LARGE cinnamon buns! tried their glogg and it was smooth and perfectly spiced, a hearty drink to go with my cinnamon bun. the large cinnamon bun costs 120sek. great place for fika with a wide selection of desserts. they sell a variety of food items too, including hot food.
If you find yourself wandering through the charming Haga district in Gothenburg, stopping by Café Husaren is practically mandatory. Known far and wide for its giant cinnamon rolls, this café is as much a local institution as it is a tourist favorite. The moment you approach, you can smell the warm spice of cinnamon and sugar wafting out the door — it’s one of those scents that immediately pulls you in.nnThe café itself has an old-world charm with cozy corners, vintage décor, and bustling energy. It’s always busy, but that’s part of the experience. Locals and visitors alike crowd inside to get a taste of their famous pastries, often taking a seat at the small tables that spill out onto the cobblestone street. We ordered their iconic cinnamon roll, which is genuinely massive — easily shareable between two or three people. The roll is perfectly baked, fluffy yet dense in the best way, with just the right amount of sticky sweetness.nnPairing it with a cup of coffee makes for the perfect fika stop. It’s a true slice of Swedish café culture: lingering over pastries, watching the street life unfold, and savoring something made with care. The staff was friendly despite the rush, and everything felt relaxed and genuine.nnCafé Husaren isn’t just about the food — it’s about the atmosphere, the history, and the simple pleasure of slowing down for a moment. Definitely worth the stop, even if just for the cinnamon roll alone.
An absolutely fantastic cafe to grab a beautiful pastry and some fabulous coffees. We went for the large cinnamon roll, two coffees and a chocolate biscuit which came to around £22 equivalent - which we thought was great value coming from London. Highly recommend for any tourist or local.
Very good bakery! Know for the giant cinnamon buns which didn't disappoint worth going to get one and maybe some of the other amazing things too!nWe will probably go back for a second visit!
Nice cake and pastry options, had a really delicious warm spiced apple tea. Nice little cafe and I guess one of the must-do's in gothenburg. It was quite quiet on the day I went wouldn't necessarily go back.
