The cruise ship port is clean, bright, and well maintained, offering a pleasant arrival and departure experience. However, it’s located a bit far from the city center, and public transportation access could be improved. The nearest metro station is quite a walk away, which isn’t ideal if you’re carrying luggage. A shuttle or more direct transit options would make it much more convenient for visitors.
We visited Stockholm as part of a cruise and were pleasantly surprised by how well-organized and clean the Stockholm Cruise Ship Port is. The cruise terminal itself was spotless, with modern washrooms, a small but well-stocked gift shop, and helpful signage to orient you as you disembark. Everything felt easy and efficient, making for a smooth arrival into this beautiful city.nnThe pier is very long, so be prepared for a bit of a walk from the ship to the cruise center building—but it's flat, well-paved, and easy to manage. Once out of the terminal, we found it simple to walk to nearby bus stops that take you directly into the city center. Public transport was affordable, clean, and easy to use.nnThat said, on our way back we opted to walk the 3 or so kilometers back to the port from downtown Stockholm, and it was honestly a highlight of the day. The walk was beautiful, taking us through charming neighborhoods and along the water with fantastic views. If you’re up for it and the weather’s nice, I highly recommend skipping the return bus and strolling back instead.nnAll in all, this port made a great first impression of Stockholm—clean, convenient, and well-connected to the city. A great starting point for a day of exploring!
