About Tärnsjö Garveri follows an inherited tradition of using vegetable-based organically tanned leather for minimal impact on the natural environment. The art of tanning leather using tannins from the plant kingdom is thousands of years old. "The art of vegetable tanned leather is thousands of years old. Here at Tärnsjö Garveri, the craft of vegetable tanning has been ongoing since 1873. We only work with the best raw material available, sourcing hides from our local surroundings. All leathers are made out of Swedish bovine hides and every batch is marked with a unique number to make it traceable.Our leather is well suited for a versatile range of products such as furniture, interior and leather goods. Our aim is always quality over quantity and today we have both skilled saddle maker and machinery to carry out the task at hand."
