A hidden gem, absolutely worth 30 minute drive from Malmø and the hour from Copenhagen. Close to the beach and embedded in the wood, this little museum display world class photography art from the owners private collection + contemporary exhibitions.nA must visit!
Worth a visit if you are in the area. Huge and dramatic exhibition space and a good range of photos to browse including vintage fashion photography and an exhibition by Kirsty Mitchell which was stunning. Very nice small cafe too.
Nice place.nNot too big.nThe Kirsty MItchell exhibition was really beautiful.
The Falsterbo Photo Art Museum in Sweden is truly a hidden gem that I had the pleasure of experiencing during a recent trip to the beautiful coastal town of Falsterbo, southeast of Malmö.nnNestled amidst picturesque seaside nature, the museum's location is simply breathtaking. The views of the sparkling Baltic Sea and a long stretch of sandy beach from one of two terraces created an almost surreal yet serene atmosphere that was perfect for appreciating art.nnThe ongoing exhibit with German-Australian commercial photographer Helmut Newton is outstanding! It gives both the novice and the serious fan a delightful collection of his work all beautifully displayed and appropriately lit. Unlike many other photography museums in Sweden and elsewhere, the Falsterbo Photo Art Museum prides itself for exhibiting Newton’s original, limited prints, not just posters, which, incidentally, can be bought at the museum’s gift shop.nnAnother highlight of my visit to Falsterbo Photo Art Museum was dining at the museum's restaurant, which was a pleasant experience in every way. The food was exceptional, with a delightful blend of local and international flavors. and the friendly and attentive staff made the dining there truly enjoyable. Oh, did I mention the great view?nnThe Falsterbo Photo Art Museum is definitely worth visiting, for the amazing art they exhibit, the excellent dining experience you can have there and the stunning nature surrounding the museum.nnHighly recommendable!
Visited Falsterbo Photo Museum with my wife and was truly mesmerized. The permanent collection featuring Helmut Newton's iconic photographs was a highlight, paired perfectly with the evocative special exhibition by Camilla Åkrans. A lesser-known fact about Newton: He began his photography journey in Singapore after fleeing his native Germany during WWII. This museum beautifully captures the essence and evolution of photographic art!
