I came to skate. Board waxed, knees bribed, heart open. The concrete at Freden glowed like a clean altar—lines you want to confess on. I was unlacing doubt when I met them by the lip: a dad and his eight-year-old, helmet bright, scooter kickbike humming like a small oath.nnBefore the kid could drop in, a patrol materialized—one father, two sons, three accusations. The speech arrived preheated: scooters ruin parks faster than anything; rules are rules because feelings are facts; today we protect heritage by downsizing other people’s childhoods. It was performed with the piety of men who were chased from plazas in the 90s and have sworn, at last, to become the security guards they once outran.nnThe boy looked at the bowl like a new planet and asked the oldest question on wheels: Isn’t rolling just… rolling? I had no answer that wouldn’t rust.nnHere’s the thing: Freden isn’t a “park,” it's a doctrinal temple. They’ve classified it as an “idrottsanläggning för skateboard”—an athletic facility for skateboard only—then stitched the doctrine to the gate like a do-not-enter wreath. The city’s own page repeats it: Only skateboards allowed. If your wheels have the wrong childhood, try Håsten, they say. Bring your scooter. Bring your gratitude. Bring a tape measure so you can clock how much smaller your dreams have to be.nnNumbers don’t care about subcultures. Freden is ~2,000 m² of street and bowl. Håsten—the exile camp for kick-bikes, inlines, and BMX—is ~350 m². That’s not “different,” that’s rationing childhood by equipment code.nnAnd while we’re worshipping one wheel creed, the Breared park also skateboard-only stands proud at ~1,800 m², built “together with Bryggeriet and thanks to Sparbanksstiftelsen Varberg,” with an extra 625,000 SEK kicked in for expansion later. Private halo money for the favored altar; crumbs and a side-yard for the rest.nnI stood there with my board and felt the temperature drop. The place is built like a promise and managed like a club. A public park that behaves like a gated memory. I thought about all the money and meetings that poured this grey ocean into place, and how quickly generosity evaporated once it set.nnSo I didn’t skate. I walked back out with the kid and his dad and we drew invisible lines on the car park. He rolled tight circles, grinning anyway—the portable version of what a city should be.nnTo the elders who now guard the gate: you once survived on borrowed space and tolerance. Don’t forget the part where you share.nnOne star for the concrete craftsmanship.nZero for telling children their motion is the wrong kind.

We were lucky to be here when STU PRO TOUR was here .
Now the municipality of Varberg has surpassed itself. A building that is magnificently made for children and teenagers as well as older skaters. It's great to experience as an audience It was probably a success at the SM competitions and the opening of this fine track with a Varberge as the winner Hampus Winberg congratulations
Nice park and a + with this park is that there are no damn scooter kids!!!
