Gävlebocken. Every year, this 45-foot tall big boss of a straw goat appears in the far north to pose the eternal questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What's my purpose in life? And will I survive this Yuletide without being burned down to the ground?
Well worth a visit to the gavlebocken between the first Sunday in advent and new years. Not far to walk from the parking garage I centrum. Wheelchair and dog friendly. Near plenty of cafes and not far to walk to visit gamlagävle.
It's a very good experience to see this. When ever someone says gavle I will remember this.nIt's basically a place in middle of gavle where everyone is taking pictures....You will find it very easily.nTip is to go during night when it's all decorated in lights. Read about it before you go...So that you will know why people try to burn it. Since 1966 it was burned down 5-6 times I guess.
You know Christmas is near when you see the bock. So pretty and so big. Even though I lived in Gävle for more than 10 years, I still got excited every time I see the Bock. Highly recommend everyone to visit Gävle at least once in December to see beautiful Bocken
A majestic straw goat standing tall. Worth a detour for the view and for the city as well.
