Its a heritage building and its the oldest and still running railway station in Sweden. It has bus and tram connectivity outside for the city tour and Neil Ericsson bus terminal for long distance buses. Taxies are also available. There are cafes, shops and banks. Paid as in whole of Sweden.
Gothenburg Central Station is a well-organized and traveler-friendly hub that connects trains, buses, and trams seamlessly. One of the most convenient features is the bag storage facility, which is easy to locate and offers a safe and secure place to store your luggage. This is especially useful if you arrive early or have a few hours to explore the city before your next journey.nnThe station is surrounded by a wide variety of eateries – from fast food chains to cozy cafes – catering to different tastes and budgets. Whether you want a quick coffee or a proper meal, there are plenty of options. There are also ample resting areas, both inside the station and in the nearby Nils Ericson Terminal, where you can sit and relax while waiting for your transport.nnAnother helpful feature is the presence of digital display units placed near the Nils Ericson Terminal, bus bays, and train platforms. These provide clear and timely information about arrivals, departures, and platform changes, making it easier to navigate the station even during busy hours.nnOverall, the station is clean, efficient, and well-maintained, offering all the essential amenities for a smooth travel experience. It's a great example of how a central transit hub should function.
Busy station. Main signboard at/outside 7-eleven displays the trains departure time and track number or Download trafikverket.se to check the timetable anytime, anywhere- very convenient.
“Great central location with easy access to trains, buses, and trams. The station has a beautiful historic feel, with plenty of shops and eateries inside. However, it can get crowded during peak hours, and signage could be clearer for first-time visitors. Overall, it’s a convenient and well-connected hub for both local and long-distance travel.”
Really handy central spot with trains, trams and bus hub. Regular airport coach every 20 mins. Nice food choices too. Excellent luggage store boxes at very reasonable rates.
