Gysinge Herrgård

We had one night at Herrgard on our way north. Great place in a great breathtaking location. A larger but warm welcoming hotel. Very dog friendly and perfect prepared. The hotel with traditional charme and modern rooms. very clean. friendly stuff. Nice buildings on the estate. Restaurant is next building. Good food but the stuff is very slow, friendly but if you dont push them you fall to sleep until getting drinks and food or next course....thats a pitty,becaus the location is great. But all good and we would come back for sure. If the service in restaurant would be better, we would give 5 stars !

Fantastic location of this quite hotel. Service is a bit disorganised. The restaurant next door is run by the same people. Food is nice but very slow. They did not tell us you need to book the restaurant even if it is not full and they turned us away. It seems that they are seriously understaffed all the time. We had to drive to the next village for pizza.

Beautiful hotel with idiyllic nature aroundn- the room had a superb view on the lake and you could use all the facilities of the domain

We stayed in the budget living, but there was no feeling of budget to it. Clean rooms in a very nice little older house. Nice beds and a good bathroom. Really good breakfast and a good service when arriving after closing time for the reception.nEverything was good, and the surroundings was more than great.

Quite a mixed bag of experiences. First of all the location is 5/5 from a scenic perspective. Check in was easy and pleasant and the bedrooms good. Nice beds and overall comfortable. The bathrooms was of a simple standard - functional and clean. No TVs in the rooms as advertised - so perfectly fine but a strange omission. Lots of dog people at the hotel when we stayed - brought some live into the place, unfortunately also in the morning when barking in the rooms and outside the windows. When there is no AC the windows needs to be open. The biggest letdown was the food, both the orangeri and the cafe. Poor but happy service and really below standard food, especially when taking into account the price. Also the surroundings was a bit so and so, clean benches and beautiful flower beds mixed with half dead flower pots and damaged lamps etc. I would certainly visit the place more times but would bring my own food and sleep somewhere else.
