Hällefors Hostel & Canoe Center

If you want to book a canoe tour around Hällefors, this is the place to go. Very friendly family business, renting canoes and kayaks for shorter or extended tours over the rivers and lakes.nnIf you don't immediately start with the tour, you can stay in the hostel rooms in the main building, or put up a tent on the camping grounds behind it for a small fee. The tours you can take on your own with supplied maps, or book a more expensive guided tour. The basic equipment canoe/kayak, life vest, paddles, packing bags or a ton, a drinking water canister, bucket, sponge and shovel is included, but you can also rent most other equipment like cutlery, tents and additional bags or tons.nnThe only small downside I can mention here is the proximity of the camping ground to a sawmill, which is quite loud and works until late hours, but that's nothing the canoe center can do about it and it's not too annoying either.

We booked a canoe trip northern route for me and my family. The booking and the organsisaton was easy, as the organsisators speak and write english and german fluently. The borrowed equipment as canoe, lifevests etc. were in really good shape canoe nearly new! and we got a clear and detailed introduction to the technique of rowing and the tour itself. We also got detailled maps with useful hints, where to stop to sleep and some other information. The trip itself was absolutely stunning, we loved it. Thanks to all the team from Germany

friendly hosts, great canoeing, comfortable hostel. We enjoyed a 5 day day canoe tour thanks to the excellent instructions by Sico, the hostel owner, who canoes himself and knows the details. The wheather and the blueberries did the rest. We recommend canoeing with children. Ours 6&8 years had a great time. Thank you also for the hiking tips in the vicinity and the moose safari. The rooms and kitchen are comfortable.

Me and my wife did an afternoon canoe trip of a few hours. Beautiful river, nature and quite peaceful. Very nice Dutch speaking staff, very decent equipment.
