International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) is an internationally recognised two-year curriculum, primarily aimed at High School students between 16-19, who are interested in a challenging, international career.
The whole curriculum is taught in English and after IB DP you will be able to continue your higher education anywhere in the world, as IB continues to gain respect from the world’s leading universities. The idea that permeates the IB programme is the pedagogical adage “Think Globally, work Locally” which means that the syllabus for all subjects carries a global perspective but is anchored in the local community.
IB DP is governed by The International Baccalaureate Organization IBO, which is responsible for curriculum, subject syllabus, training of teachers, examination and grading. All IB schools around the world have the same set exams, which are externally created and marked by appointed examiners.
In Sweden, you study the Diploma Programme over the course of three years, of which the first is a preparatory year. During Year 1, you will study subjects that correspond to Swedish High School studies, and you will also be given an introduction to all the DP subjects in order for you to make educated disciplinary choices for Year 2 and 3.
