A great place for young and adults to enjoy history in a fun way and learn a few things. Kids loved it and we were more than happy to help them understand things. It was a little bit hassle to translate sometimes but otherwise really good. Locomotion was among the most fascinating things we observed. The concept of train station and ticket checker brings a lot of memories and its funny how kids today will never get to use these things, like an old ringer phone.
Interesting museum where you can spend some hours...inside or outside....with or without your kids
A very valuable information and knowledge gained by visiting this Museum. We could see the development of Railways in Sweden. There is a 3D show. Right from conventional steam engines till the present bullet trains, we can experience the travel, as if we are sitting in the engines, like steam engines, electric engines and the present bullet engines. Ancient Postal department in a station is displayed. Live models of locomotives and how the operations, like construction tents, carrying the coal and other materials are conducted and different kinds of trains were displayed. One can see right from the beginning how Railways coped up their race with horse drawn carriages and other means of transport.nnThis place is wheel chair accessible. There are toilets available. Display of souvenirs and a coffee shop is there. Outside the museum there is a mini track and a small ride for children. There is a Children play area and a few displays related to Railways.
Entry-60seknMust visit, if youre into history and curious of railways.nnInformative and very detailed about the ways of working of railways in Sweden.nHas short movies and an auditorium which vibrates like a train.nLots of equipments, engines and descriptions of usage, evolution and working of railways, bridges.
Delightfully cozy museum, with a focus on railroads and the Swedish historical context. Lots of practical equipment and real life history as well, alongside some delightful models.
