Abondened railway bridge. About 25mts walk from Gysinge.
Beautiful abandoned railroad across Dalälven.
Worth a visit! Wander through a beautiful landscape feel the beat of history as you pass through over 100 year old iron bridges. What a construction! One can only guess what work they put in with 20th century technology compared to the aids we have today, roughly 120 years later.
Always interesting to see old railway bridges. The Sala-Gysinge-Gävle Railway SGGJ began to be built in 1898 and was completed in 1901. It was Gustaf Benedick, owner of Gysinge mill, who initiated the construction of the line. One can imagine what work was behind the construction of the embankment and the construction of the bridges with the conditions of the time. Nice walking areas with many old and large oaks.
Fantastic walk across the river
