I visited on weekend in the evening. There was not much crowd on the beach but it is beautiful and worth visiting.

The beach is surrounded by the lovely Kalmarsunds park with a direct view on Kalmar's castle in addition to some industrial facilities that ruin the beautiful landscape - yet it is a matter of taste.nThere are walking trails along it. The beach is about 15 minutes walk from the city depends how fast you go. The beach is popular amongst the locals and very child friendly. On a nice summer day it might be very crowded. It is perfect if you like to combine a swim and a jog or cycling.
