Fire and melancholy from the Celtic folk music traditions
The Celtic Duo consists of Jonas Liljeström (fiddle and vocals) and Emil Pernblad (guitar). The repertory comes from the rich Celtic folk music traditions of Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and consists of fiery jigs and reels as well as lyrically melancholic songs and airs.
The duo is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Both Jonas and Emil have been fixtures of the Gothenburg music scene since the early 90s. They started playing together in the group Celtic Connections (led by the charismatic Northern Irish expat Jonathan McCullough) from 1990 to 1996, and still perform together in the Romani/Gypsy trio Krilja. With the Celtic Duo, they return to the music which first brought them together.

Keltiska duon består av Jonas Liljeström (fiol och sång) och Emil Pernblad (gitarr). Repertoaren är hämtad från den rika keltiska folkmusiktraditionen i Irland, Skottland och Wales, och består av såväl eldiga jigs och reels som lyriskt melankoliska melodier och sånger.
Både Emil och Jonas har varit aktiva i Göteborgs musikliv sedan början av 90-talet. De började spela ihop i gruppen Celtic Connections - ledd av den karismatiske irländaren Jonathan McCullough - mellan åren 1990 och 1996, och uppträder fortfarande ihop i den romska trion Krilja. Med Keltiska duon går de tillbaka till den musik som först förde dem samman.
