Swedish producer of material handling equipment such as roll containers, pallet frames, wire baskets, wheelbarrows, sack trucks, and warehouse trolleys.
Konga Mekaniska Verkstad AB started in November 1987 by father and son, Stig and Paul Haglund.
In the beginning, a several of trolleys were produced to a company called the Ansor Team AB. At that time Ansor Team AB was a leading operator on the Swedish mail order market.
In the recession in the beginning of the 90's, we were forced to take a decision whether we should continue to produce trolleys or, if we should focus on sub-contracting. At that point we took all our trolleys to a photographer and made a small catalogue. That decision has been very successful for us.
Our philosophy was already from the beginning that no contract was too small or too big for us. That thinking together with a very strong will to invest is the main reason that Konga Mekaniska has had a positive trend during the years.
In the late nineties we choose to take a big step for us and by having the certificate for booth ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 we were even more successful. At the same time we made a unique decision to make all personnel involves in the company’s management, and this is the premier reason that Konga Mekaniska has been so successful. In this period Stig choose to retire at the age of 72 years! I´m since then the sole owner to the company.
In the year of 2000 we realized that we needed more space although we in 1999 increased our production premises. We bought some land and build a whole new stock, 2200 square meters. At the same time we started to trade different products from China, Italy and Denmark. This made that we became even more competitive, and that we have several of products in stock. It means that we have very short time from order to delivery. That’s our strength. The investment was right in time – during 2005 it was necessary to double the stock house, it´s now 4500 square meters.
During 2007 we took the step towards a more broad organization, we employed a sales manager and a finance manager.
2008 we tore down our old warehouse in connection to our office and production in Dång. A new building was erected that increased the production area with 600 square meters. It was taken into use in the turn of the year 2008/2009.
In May 2009 we became a part owner to a Vietnamese production company, Fine Interior. This means that we are transferring our trading from China to Vietnam. We look at this as an incredible opportunity to further strengthen our position.
Our customers are today within the mail order business all over Europe.
At time being we are approximately 30 employees that work´s at Konga Mekaniska, and in Vietnam approximately 110 employees.
