We're a folk/world/acoustic tribe with a melancholic sound of the east, the desert, the north and the outback.
Hailing from the small Swedish town of Uddevalla Lars Wallin and TribeLars have the ability to draw the attention of audiences, telling compelling stories about life, travels and efforts for a more peaceful and prosperous world.
The band’s music can be described as a blend of the 1977 Bowery in New York, northern Africa, the desert, Addis Abeba and the Australian outback. You will also find influences from the touareg people.
Lars Wallin have more than 10 years of experience working with The White Cockatoo Performing Group, an indigenous group from Maningrida, Arnhem Land.
Lars Wallin has also performed on a number of occasions with Chris Bailey "The Saints" . Lars Wallin & The TribeLars has performed at a number of venues around the world, from asylum camps, the bars of Eastern Europe to royal weddings (namely Frederik and Mary in Denmark).
Press:
"It’s a wonderful mix of music that you can listen to here; everything from three chord punk rock to back beat reggae. Lars Wallin also has a very characteristic voice, that sometimes sounds like a mixture of Dylan and Manu Chao (it’s bound to be unique then;-))"
Meadow Music sept 2008
"Thank you for such an incredible honour. I will never forget this tribute to my uncle Peter Norman. You will forever be my friend."
Matt Norman, Melbourne Australia 2009
