My partner spent his last six months in the dementia ward 8B at Mälarbacken. He had Lewy body dementia – a disease where memory is often intact and insight into what is happening is strong. That is precisely why it meant so much that he himself often told how well he was cared for.nnThe staff at 8B are something truly special. With warmth, presence and great work ethic, they created a safe and loving environment – not only for him, but also for me as a relative. I always felt welcome and seen.nnThe view of Lake Mälaren is magical, and our oasis quickly became the garden at the back – a hidden gem where we could breathe together.nnI am deeply grateful that we chose Mälarbacken. That we ended up there, with you, the fantastic staff, is something I will carry with me in my heart for the rest of my life.nnYou are worth your weight in gold for the great work you do!
Mom came home from Mälarbacken's short-term care home in hospital clothes. She came to the facility in her private pants but they weren't with her when she got home. When I called and asked about the pants, no one knows anything. I've called several days in a row and they say every time they'll look for them and get back to me, but no one has heard back.nnThe staff's knowledge of the Swedish language can be compared to that of a two-year-old child, which makes it incredibly difficult to communicate. Terribly bad.
My dad is in care at the dementia homen7A. I have only had a very good experience with the staff and that they try to activate the residents with music, coffee together when it was possible before the pandemic and other activities.nSitting with the old people when you walk through the corridors. My dad has never said he wants to leave there, a good sign. When he lived in short-term housing in the city, he just wanted to go home. We are super happy with the staff
My father was involved in several things and was offended and badly treated. Several in the staff had difficulty with the language and did not provide important information. The manager was poor at feedback and also had difficulty with the language.nThe food was under all criticism.nMy father was very misunderstood, as my sister said you probably saved his life when you switched to a better accommodation.nRecommends no one and feels sorry for those who live there, it is stolen even at the accommodation.
My 86 year old mother ended up there after a broken femur. They have been super skilled and wonderfully friendly staff who have helped in every way to make things better for her. It's great that there are such good placesn/Björn
