Marinan Café & Lite Bistro

We have been visiting this restaurant every time we travel to this part of Sweden, and it has truly become a family favorite. We remember when it was an open space without the glass walls, and we’ve enjoyed seeing it evolve into the beautiful spot it is today. The addition of the glass walls has only enhanced the experience — now, rain, wind, or strong sun don’t matter at all. You can enjoy the stunning views of the river comfortably in any weather.nnThe staff has consistently been kind and welcoming on every visit, which makes us feel right at home.nnWe’ve enjoyed both drinks and food here many times. Some of our favorites include Tompen’s Räka, Grillad Entrecôte, hamburger, and the Fläskfilé. The Grillad Entrecôte is a particular highlight — the wine sauce reduction and garlic butter come together perfectly, and every time we’ve requested it medium rare, it has been cooked exactly as we like it.nnThe burger is always a treat, and the fillet of pork with blue cheese sauce that I tried recently was a delicious surprise.nnOverall, this place has become a must-visit for us, and we always look forward to coming back on our next trip to Sweden.

Super nice location but the staff tried to kick me out, because I had a Gatorade’s in my table. The house beer was good but I couldn’t order any food in the top floor. The staff needs to work on their customer service.

The burger was cold and dry and had burnt spots on it. The buns were cold as well.nThe chairs were too low for the tables and kind of hard to eat.nThe beers came in glasses instead of pints!nThe staff were kind.

Staff was friendly, and good service. Food was OK. Fish sauce was supposedly really good.

We picked it because it was the only dog-friendly restaurant in Leksand. The good reviews and location were a nice plus. The lunch menu during low season is limited to Scampi cesar salad and Hamburgers, hence the 4 stars. The food was delicious and the staff was really nice and attentive.
