Such a beautiful experience first time in this iconic food hall with a long history. The restaurant we tried today was great it’s fish soup was delicious and cod was amazing and so fresh. My husband gave a big thumb up for the veto salad with grilled cheese the waiter recommended.We just can’t wait to come back Stockholm again soon
Great market hall. Freshly modernised with plenty of options for takeaway or dine-in.nnGreat choice of suppliers from cheese, meat, fish and many international restaurants. A good baker would add some quality!
I arrived at around 6:15pm, and while some of the stalls particularly the seafood vendors had already started closing and packing up for the day, there was still plenty of great food to choose from.nnOne thing I absolutely loved about Stockholm was how easy it is to put together a quality “supermarket dinner,” and Östermalms Food Hall is perfect for that. A friend and I picked up a fresh salad and the famous Swedish skagen for dinner, followed by a gorgeous pink Princess Cake for dessert. I’m not usually one for sweets, but I’d happily give that cake a 10/10.nnWe then headed back to our apartment to enjoy everything on the balcony with a bottle of rosé that we managed to grab from the nearby liquor store before it closed, just a three-minute walk from the food hall. It ended up being one of those simple yet memorable Stockholm evenings.nnComing from Melbourne though, I naturally compared it to Queen Victoria Market. While it’s nowhere near as large, I never felt like I was missing out. There was more than enough variety to put together a fantastic meal and discover some delicious Swedish specialities.nnWhether you’re looking for gourmet ingredients, a quick meal, or a taste of Swedish specialities, this food hall is definitely worth a visit.
Pricey and so worth it! I discovered this place in a food tour and enjoyed it so much I had to come back before I left Stockholm to get full portions. Without a doubt, I had the best meatballs I’ve ever had there!
Visited Östermalm Food Hall and honestly understood pretty quickly why it’s considered one of Stockholm’s must-visit food spots. The hall itself is beautiful — elegant, historic, and very polished, with that classic Scandinavian aesthetic that makes even browsing around feel enjoyable.nWhat stood out most was the quality of the food displays: seafood, smoked fish, cheeses, cured meats, Swedish specialties… everything looked incredibly fresh and well presented. It’s a great place to try different local products in one stop, whether for a proper lunch, fika, or just wandering around with curious eyes and an empty stomach.nThe atmosphere feels more refined gourmet hall than chaotic local market, which can be either a pro or a con depending on what you’re looking for. Personally, I enjoyed the classy vibe and seeing locals casually having lunch at the counters.nOnly downside: prices are definitely on the higher side, and it can get crowded around lunchtime. But overall, it feels more like paying for both the quality and the experience.nNot exactly a budget food market, but absolutely worth visiting if you appreciate good food, beautiful interiors, and Stockholm’s upscale side.
