The vision of the Swedish pioneer initiative Parentsmart Employers/Föräldrasmarta ® Arbetsgivare is to spread a mindset and concrete method and standards developing both workplaces and societies. Parenthood is a concrete universal example possible to highlight everywhere. It creates commitment and understanding no matter geography, culture, religion and traditions.
The pioneer idea has got a lot of attention, since it presents a new and norm breaking perspective on the matter of combining work and parenthood. An increasing No of foreign employers want to take part of the Swedish experience, and the idea is spread to Japan, US, Poland, Russia, Estonia etc.
HOW
The Parentsmart Employer concept includes a set of employer methods and tools to implement both practical support to working parents, and develop attitudes concerning parenthood & work. Train-the-trainer material for internal dialogues and workshops, as well as tools for everyday use make the issue concrete. Combining employer guidelines with continuous role model dialogues lead to development from start. The Swedish PS Employer team helps you arrange everything from a local lecture/dialogue workshop with a panel of local/internal role models, to global train-the-trainer programs to roll out Parentsmart Employer Standards & Certification on an international level.
The Swedish expert in the area, Tiina Bruno, often referred to as a thought leader and norm breaker, participates in seminars, panels and workshops on an international level.
