This is the Facebook-page, where I will show more of the custom work that I do, mixed with new items up for sale, work-in-progress and other information.
Patina Leathercraft is a result of my thoughts, development and experience within the area of leather crafting. I have been interested in producing things for larp, re-enactment and other suitable occasions for a long period of time. Ever since I was young I developed own patterns, ideas and ways of resolving dilemmas that came along the way. My crafted work started mainly with more simple things, like bracers, belts or gear made to be used by me, my friends of my wife as we all had roles of orcs.
Since 2006 I have been more and more active with the concept that later grew to become Patina Leathercraft. But I was short on space and ways of working without disturbance. In 2011 me and my family moved to Västerås, where we live today, and I managed to create a small workspace in a part of the living room. This made it easier for me to make even more progress.
In the late year of 2013, we moved to a bigger apartment, and it is here I was able to get and entire room as my workshop. With the newly found space (well away from my kids), I continued to stock-pile material and progressing even further with ideas of my own, but also many custom made orders.
In the beginning of 2015, I got to know that there was a site, called etsy.com, in which someone with a small business like mine could open up an online shop. So there is where one will find most of my work so far for sale.
But about equally as much as I work with items for sale of my own ideas and designs, I also work with total custom made services. I often get contacted by Facebook or by phone, we talk and try to get an overview of what the costumer is looking for. I draw a sketch of the requested item, and we alter it together to fit the customers wishes so that I matches as well as possible.
After that I begin to build the item. The costumer is updated with work-in-progress photos if the working process is longer. Also depending on the amount of orders I have at the time.
Then the most intriguing part of my work (according to me), comes. When the customer receives a picture of the finished product, and after a visual approval get the item delivered to them (either come and visit me if you live nearby, arrange a meeting somewhere close, get it shipped to your address).
I always check in with my customers afterwards to see that expectation equaled reality as close as possible. Feedback is always a guarantee that I have made something correct.
