About

People to People Int'l is a Christian ministry that supports evangelical and humanitarian work in Poland, Romania, and the Rep. of Moldova.

Story

People to People International (PTPI) was founded 1984 by Oliver and Ulla Lindberg and is the fulfillment of the vision given by God in 1978. The beginning of the vision is “I the Lord have called you for a special purpose, to support the pastors and churches in the Soviet Union and Eastern bloc countries”. People to People International has had a huge impact upon the spiritual life of many of the Eastern Bloc countries. During the years when these countries in Eastern Europe were under communist rule evangelical activities were banned or severely restricted.

Over the years the countries of Eastern Europe, for political reasons, was closed to Evangelistic work was carried out in secret underground Bible schools and pastoral conferences. Large quantities of Christian literature have been conveyed to countries behind the iron curtain. To the former Soviet Union 1 million Bibles have been distributed. PTPI also conducted pastors’ conferences an activity that is still active today. The work that was done then, had to be done in strict secrecy. Since the fall of the Iron Curtain the situation is entirely different. These countries now have religious freedom, which in turn has enabled evangelical work in a completely open way.

Over the years PTPI has provided relief aid to Poland and Romania in particular. In total, PTPI has sent approximately 350-400 sixteen wheelers with supplies; clothing, and humanitarian assistance such as medical equipment, medicine and gluten free flower. The organization also has wholly or partly funded a number of church building projects at various locations in Eastern Europe. Similarly, ten complete offset printing services to countries in the East.


Today
The vision given by God still remains as the core foundation and guiding principle for the work that is going on today, even though the needs we face are very different. Today PTPI works mainly in Poland, Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Today, the Evangelistic work carried out openly in countries that had previously been closed. Today, the organization operates in Poland, Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

Since 1995 People to People International have been supporting the work among the orphaned and neglected children of Romania. We as an organization fully support Caminul Felix in their mission to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional and social needs of the children growing up in the families at Caminul Felix Family Villages found in Oradea, Romania.

PTPI also support the work among the Roma through the foundation Children of Promise, based out of Oradea, Romania.

PTPI also supports the Eastern European Bible College, also based in Oradea, Romania, as well as financially supporting pastors and evangelists in the countries mentioned herein.
