Sailed the Mazovia as a foot passenger from Ystad, Boarding well organised by bus, food ok but basic. The ferry is quite basic and dated. Staff friendly and helpful, especially the guy at reception who helped us with the luggage lockers. Long walk on arrival to exit the port.
I was traveling with this company on board M/S Mazovia now under Bahama flag after a previous life as M/S Gotland, connecting the island of Gotland in the Baltic to the Swedish mainland. It's a run down ship in the need for a new life. Passage was slow just like the unloading that took 40 minutes despite the ferry being far from full. You can eat and drink and buy some tax free products. Access to deck was restricted without any explanations. I will certainly chose another maritime transporter for my next trip across the southern Baltic.
Staff on the ferry were very helpful. The food onboard was expensive but it was very tasty. The boat was clean and I was very impressed. My only complaint was the engine noise in the room. It was so loud everything was vibrating. I did not have earplugs but next time I will. It's hard to understand why it was so noisy, but the room was clean and comfortable! It's amazing how many vehicles and trucks fit inside that boat.
New ferry was pretty nice, but on the way back we got very old ferry and it was disaster. Overused, dirty smelly and noisy! Room for 4 per. has halfway ready with bedsheets and only one socket in bathroombroken. Next time we know that we need look at witch ferry we travel.
Terrible website experience, terrible navigation to the port, honestly i cant believe we even found it. The ferry was new and people were nice, but it was impossible to sleep with the irregular vibrations, obnoxiously loud fan that coulsnt be turned off, and a giant gap around the door that brought enough light from the hallway to make it impossible to feel like its night.
