The Rävemåla Residency Programme (RRP) is an Artist-in-Residency programme based in Rävemåla, Sweden in one of the least populated countries on earth.
Rävemåla is a small village located 40 km away from Kalmar in southern Sweden. The RRP house can be found on the outer fringes of this village, surrounded by farmland, simplicity and space. The immediate environment is one of rural solitude and stillness, perfect for those wishing to escape into the wild and work without distractions.
The 5 bedroom house is approximately 140m2 sitting on 3700m2 of land. There is electricity throughout, fireplaces for heating and a working well, however presently there is no wifi or running water. Bicycles enable local transportation but aside from that, guests will be relatively alone in their surroundings, living independently of conventional means.
This unique location means that visitors leave very little in the way of a carbon footprint and the house offers guests an amazing opportunity for escapism and total freedom. In years to come it is the aim for the house to be totally self-sustainable. This is an aim we’d be very glad to have guests help us realise.
