Royal Swedish Opera

A magnificent building. We had incredible seats in the royal box to see Swan Lake. It was such a lovely setting - I'm so pleased we were able to get tickets whilst in Stockholm!nnThere's a private cloakroom for box guests, so don't waste your money on the general cloakroom!nnThere are also drinks and snacks provided during the intermission, in the ball room - which is a spectacle of it's own!nnThe Opera House is really well located with parking available, abundant even, within 10 minutes walk in any direction.

A beautiful place, with wonderful operas and ballets. The programme is not as rich as The Royal Opera and Ballet in London, but the limited ones shown in Sthlm are equally good. So far I have seen Romeo and Juliet. Excellent costumes, excellent ballet. Needless to say I love Prokofiev. Then we have seen Rusalka. I loved how the stage arrangements, the modern meeting Dvořák's wonderful melodies. The performances and especially the chess scene were amazing: the details, the humour, costumes, the choreography. We will continue going there. Turandot is on my list

Beautiful theatre, great level of performances, very convenient facilities, lots of cloackrooms and bars.nnGuided tour in English was fantastic, lead by a former dancer Roy with impeccable English, vast knowledge&experience, and a great, balanced sense of humour.

Kulturfestivalen open air for free tonight! It was so great to hear top opera singers collaborated with the Swedish orchestra to play the top classic! So happy to be able to watch it for free with such top class quality performances.

The modern production of Aida was abominable!nInstead of Ancient Egypt you can see soldiers with guns and all this modern regiethrater trash.nCloakroom is 30 SEK, nonsense!nSubtitles only in Swedish
