I am sorry to say this, but the young doctor who examined me was incompetent. With his old-timey equipement, he misdiagnosed my sudden loss of vision in one eye for cataracts. When a month later, I returned home to my 21st-century-equipment eye doctor, it turned out that I had no cataracts, and that the reason for my vision loss at the time was due to a reversible easily diagnosed undernlying health issue. I love visiting Stockholm, but I hate having health emergencies, as non-citizens are typically treated badly, but i wouldn't give a 1-star review for moody receptionists, it's the incompetence that bothered me. Also, i was asked to pay upfront 400 euro!!! for just this visit, even though I have a European insurance, normally accepted by all emergency clinics in Europe. The flimsy excuse that my passport was from a different country, I've never been given before.
The emergency department is so difficult to find on foot or by car. There is almost no sign leading to the reception itself. Reconstruction is underway, which makes it even more difficult to find here.nnOnce you have found the entrance, it is another challenge to find where to go to get to the emergency department. The only sign at the entrance leads out of the facility. Right sign is only placed at the elevator.nnIt's such a shame that after so many years and high costs, no one has thought that someone suffering from eye problems and seeking an eye emergency needs clear and large signs to find their way here!
Fabulous facility. Having an eye issue in another country of course is far from ideal. We were seen within about 15 minutes, reception staff and the optometrist himself were all very helpful and thorough. Very clean and a great ‘now serving’ system.nHighly recommended and though maybe not as well signposted as the other reviews, the most important thing to review is the actual care and concern which couldn’t have been better.nWe could do with the same in London!
Excellent eye clinic!! Had an emergency. Didn't wait long and the doctor was amazing! Took his time to explain, and do things carefully ...
We had an emergency and went to the Ogonakut section at the opening hours 8am and 30min later we were seen by a doctornThe staff we encountered therenurses, doctors were all very helpful and understanding of the situation an eye infection and treated the patient with empathy especially the cornea specialist Dr.nnAlso as foreigners it was a big plus that everyone we met spoke English very wellnnFor any EU citizens reading this: I recommend you get your EU blue card in case you need any medical services, we paid 10 times the normal amount than if we would have had this card with us
