I have to say, this aquarium is the highlight of Skansen. There’s an extra entry fee for it, but it’s definitely worth it. The tropical zoo is vibrant and beautifully organized. Kids will have a great time here. Don’t hesitate to visit!
It costs extra to get into the aquarium, but I'd say it's well worth the price of admission. A good selection of animals, but I'd say calling this an aquarium is almost a misnomer- it is much closer to a terra zoo, with a great variety of insects, arachnids and reptiles.nI loved the little rat enclosure that looked like a house.
During Skansen itself is truly worth several visits I wasn’t too impressed by the private aquarium. Considering a very high entry fee, separate from the Skansen entrance ticket, the place is small and rain forest part lifeless and disappointing. Most reptiles have very little space and there’s a very disturbing noise throughout the place coming from the ventilation. Especially the place where the white rattlesnake is being held, there’s a TV just above its terrarium showing the same short movie every few seconds causing a very disturbing noise over and over again. It’s heartbreaking to see how little space some animals have never seeing real sunlight. I think for the few we pay the animals should have it much better than they actually do!
Here you will be able to visit in 2 parts. One free exhibit included in the entrance ticket of Skansen and another part where you pay an extra entrance fee of 160kr.nOn the free part are some aquariums with local fish mostly and others with jellyfish.nOn the paid part are more colorful fishes, you also get to see snakes and some monkeys. The experience is very nice.
Skansen Zoo is a fantastic destination for families, especially if you're visiting with kids, when you are in Stockholm. The park offers a wide range of activities and plenty of animals to see, making it easy to spend an entire day exploring.nA highlight for children is the interactive experience, where they can touch a snake and enjoy other hands-on activities. In addition to the zoo, there's an aquarium featuring the world's smallest monkey, which is a must-see. The park also features a charming old house that provides a glimpse into historic culture, adding an educational element to your visit. With a nice restaurant and convenient restrooms, plus ample parking, Skansen Zoo is easy to reach and a joy to explore. Don't miss it!
