My partner took me to Solen for my birthday because I’m a foodie and hobby chef. Solen did not disappoint! My mouth was taken to Flavor Town through a variety of small plates. The staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable even though it was a busy Saturday dinner crowd. The only negative for me is I will need to spend the next 3 weeks trying to figure out how to construct the dishes and bake the incredible rye sourdough bread like they do!
Venue is great and the staff is nice and welcoming.nThe dishes are priced pretty high, which I don’t mind if the quality is there. In this case it was a bit of a mixed bag.nFried squid was good, but it’s a basic dish and lacked something to make it more interesting.nThe beef tartare had a nice combination of acidity and slight spiciness.nThe grilled sea bass was a bit dry unfortunately. With slightly more care this could’ve been a great dish.nThe charred chicken was perfect from a texture perspective, but for that price I would’ve expected the dish to be a bit more special.nThe highlight of the dinner was the crème brûlée with jamon and nuts. Really lovely dessert, nice and creamy, not too sweet and a well balanced addition of slight saltiness and umami from the ham.
i enjoyed the food a lot. quite a nice mixture of european and asian cuisines on the premises of the former meat market.nnthe ceviche was superb, good combo of ingredients. the charred broccoli were really good: nutty, creamy, and crunchy.nnbasque cheescake - my new love.nnmac n cheese gnocchi were terrible tho, the meal was imbalanced and everything was literally drowned in the oil.nnthe selection of non-alcoholic drinks is rather subpar and dissapointing. defo will come back.
This place is solid!! We enjoyed a meal here and it was awesome - great flavors in every bite; atmosphere was enjoyable and lively; staff was helpful with suggestions and attentive throughout the entire meal. Lovely spot near the stadiums/arena. Highly recommend the smaller plates as each had unique flavors as most were fusion blended!
A great place for a special dinner. Went when visiting Stockholm for celebration of oir anniversary. The entrées and the food of choice was amazing. We had entrées, a steak to share and of course a desert. Everything we tried was incredibly tasty. Very memorable restaurant. Also the interior is also very intentional and stylish. The service was great. Friendly staff. Definitely is worth a visit. We will be definitely coming back when we are in Sweden.
