Stora Bageriet is one of Stockholm's most charming bakeries, combining a beautiful historic setting with excellent pastries and coffee. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place for breakfast, fika, or a relaxed lunch.nnThe pastries are freshly baked and well-crafted, with standout cinnamon buns and seasonal treats that showcase high-quality ingredients. The coffee is consistently good, and the staff are friendly and attentive despite the bakery often being busy.nnThe only downside is that prices are on the higher side, but the quality and experience largely justify the cost. Overall, Stora Bageriet is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Swedish baking in a unique and memorable environment.
Lets start with the positive things: pastries, the yoghurt with cherries and granola, the bread and the egg were delicious. Among the staff, there was a very tall, young, blonde boy who was so polite and working so efficiently. We appreciated him. He really deserves a big thank you! Well, I hope the rest of the staff can get inspited by him!!! They really need this as they literally were lazily hanging around while the blonde tall guy was working like a bee. nnWhat must be improved?nnThe egg was cold, we would have preffered it to be served warm.nnThe butter was ok but whipped butter is even better which goes so well with levain bread. The salt on the butter is not needed.nnWe love the Danish breakfast so it is good that there is a version of it in Sthlm too.nnHowever, what we strongly recommend is the granola, egg ask for them to give a warm one & the pastries, especially the salted vanilla bulle !!
Went early, close to opening. Great atmosphere and good selection of bakes. Went for Dansk breakfast plate and had the most amazing homemade marmalade ever possibly blood orange marmalade. Wish I tried the cardamom or cinnamon bun, but next time!
We stopped by Stora Bageriet to try their semla 62 SEK and cappuccino, and it was a great experience overall. The semla was fresh and well balanced — soft bun, generous almond filling and light whipped cream. The cappuccino was also very good and paired perfectly for a proper Swedish fika.nThe atmosphere is cozy and lively, with a really nice vibe. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. One of the highlights is the open bakery area — you can actually see the bakers working. We were lucky enough to watch them making semla, which made the visit even more special.nThe only downside is that it gets quite busy. In winter, without the terrace, it can be difficult to find a seat.nOverall, highly recommended if you’re looking for traditional semla, good coffee and an authentic bakery experience in Stockholm.
The place is a bit crowded, and the space feels slightly narrow, but it’s definitely worth a visit. The sandwiches and pastries were very fresh and delicious, and the coffee was just as good. Despite the limited space, the overall experience was enjoyable. Prices are also quite reasonable, making it a great spot to stop by for a quick and tasty break.
