Scary elevator though
I got to this station because... did not open the tvarbanan doors at Alvik Strand station and did not respond to pressing the door open button. As a result, I was late for the meeting.
Stora Essingen is an island and a district in Stockholm, next to Lilla Essingen in Mälaren. The island is 73 hectares in size, and is surrounded by Essingefjärden, Essingedjupet, Essingesundet, Klubfjärden and Oxhålet. The district borders Fredhäll, Lilla Essingen, Gröndal, Smedslätten, Äppelviken and Alvik. The island belongs to Kungsholmen's district area. Former names were, among others, Store Äsingen and Stora Hessingen.nnStora Essingen is an island and a district in the Kungsholmen borough in Stockholm, Sweden. It is located adjacent to Lilla Essingen on Lake Mälaren. Both Essingen Islands are mainly residential areas. Stora Essingen is scattered with private houses and apartment buildings. The Essingeleden motorway, part of European route E4, passes along a section of the eastern shore. The Tvärbanan light rail passes near the eastern shore and has one stop on the island.
Nice view. Simple and small station with single seats. Clear entrance and good with the lift. However, check that the lift works if you need disabled access.
One of Stockholm's nicest places to live.nClose to Bromma, Liljeholmen and the city. At the same time, it is a bit secluded near the water.
