Stora Skedvi kyrka

Oldest church in Dalarna with some pretty amazing old Christian art inside. Open for visitors 9-15 Wednesday to Friday.

A nice church to visit, mentioned as early as the 13th century.

The first version of the church was probably built in the 13th century. The original appearance is unknown. In the 15th century, a brick vault was built, replacing the old wooden roof. In the 16th century, the vaults were decorated with lime paintings. If you want to know more, visit their website.

Beautiful church in a beautiful countryside. On Thursdays there have been many activities in and around the church for some time, with a waffle café, evening mass and church choir practice. A nice atmosphere and a beautiful church room with nice ceiling paintings. Soon a newly restored organ too!

From the outside, it looks like a brick church! We drove here especially because it's supposed to be special inside. Unfortunately, the opening hours are completely inaccurate. We were here on a Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., and everything was closed, even though it's supposed to be open until 3 p.m. What a shame!
