Strömbacka bruk

A wonderful place. Picture-perfect Sweden. A lake with a peninsula, a bathing jetty, and a village sauna. The chapel in front and the manor house surrounded by enormous trees. A meadow of wildflowers beside it, and in the middle, the old blacksmith's shop. We stayed overnight and had a fantastic breakfast at Strömbacka 423. We were even able to rent a motorboat there! A wonderful holiday!

8 Sept 2024 Incredibly well-preserved working environment. Strömbacka bar iron forge was connected to Moviken's blast furnace. It is fascinating to see what kind of working environment they had at this time. Yet it was here, among other things, that Sweden's prosperity was founded. We had the same skilled guide as at Moviken's blast furnace and harbor. Many thanks for the fine guidance.

The world's last Walloon forge. Mill environments are exciting places. So fascinating how much work went into producing the iron, the key to our prosperity.

Unfortunately the museum was not open. Otherwise it was very nice.

The place is very pretty and interesting. Unfortunately, the café they have in the old office next to the church was closed even though Google said it was open.nNevertheless, the trip is worth it.
