The Kosterbåterna ferries are the fastest unless you are a multimillionaire and can afford a water taxi and cheapest way to travel to the Koster Islands. The ferries run up to 10 times a day depending on the season. The cost for an adult is around 14 euros for a return trip. The catamaran ferries are very fast and also very nicely decorated inside. When the weather is bad, large panoramic windows offer a good view of nature rushing by. When the weather is nice you can sit up on the open deck. In high season it is difficult to get your desired spot because the boats are very full. The price mentioned applies regardless of which pier you want to pay for. There is also a small kiosk on board with coffee and bulla as well as fresh drinks, beer and sweets. If you're lucky and always have a nice look out, then you might be lucky enough to spot a seal.

Strømstad has a nice harbor and a nice boat trip has been made from skjerhalden to Strømstad. Goes every two hours and takes 50 min. Good weather that provides comfort on the trip.
