Systembolaget, in other words the Swedish alcohol retail monopoly. It is funny how although monopoly is illegal, the state exercises it on alcohol. The issue with this is that over taxing the alcohol does not work as well as they think. Since tax works on percentage cheap alcohol is still relatively cheap while fine liquor is ridiculously expensive. This results in a limited sortiment due to that fact that the majority of the customers will choose the cheaper options, lowering the demand on finer liquors. This store in particular has barely anything to choose from and ordering online not only is a pain but also takes a lot of time.

Systembolaget usually have very good personnel and this place in Mjölby is not an exception. They are very helpful, knowledgeable and good at coming up with tips for you.
