Our little piece of Yorkshire opened its doors for the first time in June 2013, set deep in the Swedish forest it is a venue inspired by the ‘local pub’ much enjoyed by communities throughout the UK. In many towns and villages, the pub plays the role of a meeting place, where locals congregate to enjoy each others company and conversation….with the added bonus of a pint or three.
What better way of relaxing after a day’s activities such as golf or clay pigeon shooting, than with some traditional pub grub and a pint of real ale to wash it down.
The Flying Pig has all the usual benefits you would expect from a Yorkshire pub, a dartboard, a jukebox, a piano, a welcoming bar and a beer garden in which to chill. Essentially, we have created a venue with the intention of hosting events for corporate groups, stag/hen parties, beer tasting, golf weekends and live music nights or any social group of people just wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle for a day of easy living.
Watch this space for updates on the progress of the brewery and other additions to the facilities on offer for visitors to one of the few, if not the only, example of true Yorkshire pub-culture to be found in Sweden today.
