BEAST OF A NORTHERN LIGTH is the first single from THE GLORIA STORY’s highly anticipated third album “GREETINGS FROM ELECTRIC WASTELAND” (release Nov 2015), following the chart topping success of SHADES OF WHITE (2011) and BORN TO LOSE (2013). With it’s charismatic high pitched vocals and solid, speedy guitar riff this song could easily have been a lost gem from the late 70’s. Still it has a contemporary twist, in the sence that it doesn’t sound old. It feels competitive and fresh. That is what The Gloria Story is all about, both on their recordings and live. They have no intentions of hiding the fact that they are hughe fanboys of 70’s hard rock, but they mix it up, always with a humorous attitude, analogue expression and renewed energy to create a sound of their own. BEAST OF A NORTHERN LIGHT sets the tone for what promises to be one of this years most entertaining and interesting classic rock albums. The Gloria Story can’t wait to “unleash the beast” as they hit the road in EU with The Quireboys, this December.

BIO THE GLORIA STORY

Where bands like Graveyard or Rival Sons explore and reinvent the heavier stuff from the 70′s, old school rockers The Gloria Story focuses on the more party oriented sounds of that same decade. The Gloria Story is a mashup of punk rock attitude with hard rock energy – always with an analouge feeling, a humorous twist and a dark soul. The Gloria Storys debut album “Shades of White” instantly hit the #1 spot on Swedish rock charts upon it’s release in june 2011. The band has also been awarded with a platinum disc for 20.000 sold copies of “OH NO (2010)”.

The concept of mixing flamboyant posing with high energy rock and roll and pure entertainment has made The Gloria Story into one of the most promising Swedish touringmachines in recent years. With 200+ shows opening for bands like Thin Lizzy and Gilby Clarke, and touring festivals like Sweden Rock Festival and clubs all over Europe The Gloria Story is on the edge of making it big. All the way, from their humble beginnings in 2009, TGS has had a genuine and honest lo tech, old school sound that has amazed audiences wherever the band has played.
