Was very interesting to see the development of matchsticks, the original equipment used in the factory and the different matchboxes and design made. It isn't really big so definitely able to get through within an hour.nThe film was roughly 8 minutes long and focused about the origins of fire including for example the greek myth behind it. This was nice but would have preferred more photos/videos about the factory itself and how things were run e.g. people in the factory, stories about factory fires etc.nUpstairs was pretty good too but overall was unsure about the order of each section as it is not very chronological briefly about Kreuger and also factory fires and projector about flammable items and different matchbox designs.nAlso went towards closing time at 3pm so overall not very busy.
Fascinating museum devoted to Swedish matchstick production located in Agnetha Fältskog's hometown. Seeing the recreation of a two room apartment and the story of its inhabitants, and the destructive effect of phosphorus on the workers was interesting.
Nicely made museum but the actual production process is hard to follow. Some more descriptions/ illustrations/ videos would be helpful.nCertainly worth a visit when you are in the area
This is the unique museum, I suppose the only in the world.nIt shows us the history of match manufacturing and real equipment for it.nThere are several rooms with exhibits, little shop with souvenirs.nAlso, I’ve taken free magazine and brochures to find out more about Swedish match factories and the region.nWe visited in winter, so the entrance was for free. Thank you for this opportunity!nVery unusual but interesting.
