Uppsala Cathedral truly impressed me. It is the tallest and largest cathedral in Scandinavia, and you can feel that scale the moment you see it from outside. The twin towers dominate the city skyline, and the red brick Gothic façade is striking.nInside, the space feels surprisingly balanced and calm. The stone columns are very tall and elegant, the light is soft and natural, and the whole atmosphere is sober and dignified rather than overwhelming. What moved me most was the sense of history royal tombs and important national figures rest inside, which turns the cathedral into a true historical monument, not just a church.nEntrance is free for individual visitors.nFor groups, the entrance fee is 800 SEK.nThis is not just a place you “visit from a list”. It is a place you actually feel.nHighly recommended.
It was a beautiful experience and one of the most original atmospheres I have found in a church, especially compared to others in Stockholm. I was in awe of the high ceilings and the sound of the singing with its natural echo. It was such a calm and graceful Sunday.
Really impressed by the architectural beauty of the cathedral. A must see place in Uppsala. Have a long walk around the cathedral. There are other things to see.
The cathedral has a great architecture from very past.nIt feels mesmerizing arriving there and visit.nWe could not manage to visit inside as we arrived late. But it was a great experience still taking a walk around.nThere is parking area nearby not very big though.
Uppsala Cathedral is an impressive and peaceful place to visit. On Sundays, mass usually ends around 12:30 PM, so if you plan to visit, it’s best to arrive after this time to avoid interruptions.
