I took the Stockholm Central Station train to Uppsala Central Station on Walpurgis morning to watch the raft competition. I arrived around 6:00 Am to walk on both sides of the Fyris river to figure out the best location for me to photograph the event. Terrible signs for replacement bus, worst experience for public transportation evernnDo not get tricked by the signs that states 'ersättningbuss destination city'. Those are totally irrelevant. The bus stops for replacements are not divided by destination but the traffic companies SJ, SL, UL, etc.. C1 is for mälartåg, E3 for the others.nThanks to the misleading information from both Uppsala station and the traffic companies, I've ended up waiting for 2h 30m for such bus. Only if there was one responsible personal would have put their slightest attention, this could've been EASILY avoided.
This is the main railway station for Uppsala city. The surroundings around the station are good.
Uppsala central station is everything it needs to be. It is a central hub for regional and local transport, a conference and hotel center, a place to get food and a place to park your bike. It is clean, organized, efficient and secure.
Outside it looks like a hotel: so nice! A pleasing fountain with statues in front of the station.
