Västerås Central Station is a railway station along the Mälarbanan railway line in central Västerås, served by Mälartåg, SJ and Tåg i Bergslagen. To the east of the station building is an area with bus stops, to the west is a parking lot. To the south of the station and tracks is a long-term parking lot. The current travel center with a new main building with an older-style wooden facade was put into use in 1997, after which the nearby original station building from 1875 was demolished. A reconstruction is planned in the 2020s to a new, larger travel center.
Punctual and professional. Easy to hop on your trains with your platform and time accurately. There are two side to park your car and bicycle. In front of the station is FlixBus stop and others, local city bus stops too. In the backyard is hotel and bank. There’s coffee shops and convenient store. Sometimes I see people carry bicycles in to the station, there’s escalators and lifts. Trains are quite clean, although every time I take train to Stockholm, there will be no seats, had to sit on the stairs.
Like all transport hubs in Sweden it's information displays and logic are poor.
Really poor and small station. Nothing like Uppsala or Stockholm. It’s ok for a small town and some small minded so called people
It's a cool good place to stay and wait for the train.
