Beautiful place for a day outing.. when I went in winter it was closed but opened for summer you have to pay around 110 sek per adult to travel by a private boat to the fortress but worth visiting.. I suggest to take food if you are budget concern otherwise couple of restaurants are there .. beautiful place but has to keep an eye on the kids as there’s many high places.. museum is nice you have to buy the tickets to go in but worth seeing wheelchair not accessible inside the museum
Nice place to visit at Vaxholm. You have to go by boat to the castle from Vaxholm ferry terminal. Ferry from Stockholm stops at Castle after Vaxholm, better to get down there instead of Vaxholm and comeback to Vaxholm in the small boat for cost saving.nMuseum is closed on the weekends!
Pleasant place to explore. Museum was closed when we visited so we missed that. You can circumnavigate the island and climb the tower
Amazing fortress architecture, scenery and history. Definitely worth visiting.
Great fort, been keeping Stockholm safe from Russian invasions since 1548.nnAlso very scenic!
