We booked a table at Villa Foresta on November 15th for six people—three couples who all enjoy fine dining and have travelled extensively. We were excited and expected a memorable culinary experience at Villa Foresta WS, given the restaurant’s reputation and beautiful setting. Unfortunately, our visit did not fully meet those expectations.nnThe Malmström couple ordered the seafood and fish soup, which turned out to be disappointing. The bowl was rather small, and the portion contained very little fish, minimal seafood, and was largely made up of vegetables. The “råkaka,” ordered by the Frondell couple, was also underwhelming, with only a small amount of shrimp served on a very small piece of bread. While the ox cheek dish was reasonably acceptable, it still did not leave us fully satisfied.nnService began well, and we truly appreciated being seated with a beautiful sunset view—an exceptional touch that elevated the ambiance. However, the service timing declined as the evening went on. When we ordered dessert and coffee, the coffee arrived first, and the desserts followed nearly 15 minutes later. This disrupted the flow of the meal and made it difficult to enjoy the final course as intended.nnAdditionally, we were surprised to be charged for water, as many restaurants of similar caliber include still or sparkling water at no extra cost.nnOverall, the atmosphere at Villa Foresta is superb, but both the food quality and service timing fell short of our expectations, particularly given the price level. We hope the restaurant will take this feedback into consideration, as it has tremendous potential to offer an outstanding dining experience in such a beautiful location.nnFor this visit, we would rate it 3 out of 5.

The hotel is interesting and has very nice river view. Room is old and has very small shower and some lights were not working. I stayed here because of a meeting, butI wouldn't choose this hotel for my own stay. There is no restaurant nearby.
Room given had a beautiful view and spacious, no complaint. -1 star for the room was not cleaned thoroughly, for instance found previous guest empty snus pouches. Noise from ceiling creaks was loud too but I guess its expected from old building.nnService was a hit and miss, mostly miss. I would rate it 1/5 instead of 2/5 if not for the single receptionist and the bartender. All misses from the kitchen side especially during breakfast. Well you gotta step up your game if you want your hospitality to be remembered.
From the outside, the hotel looked modest, but it turned out to be surprisingly stylish, and the room even felt luxurious. For once, there were more than enough pillows—and good quality ones too. The firmness of the bed was just right for my body. Breakfast was traditional with a wide selection. The hotel’s location is somewhat remote from the city center, but relatively close to the Tallink Silja terminal. Getting to the center is easy with a combination of tram and metro. Lidingö is a pleasant district with great outdoor areas and stunning scenery.
