Voysys develops a gaming engine designed for rendering VR video. The engine was developed initially for the remote control of quadrocopters and has therefore been designed for real-time applications from day one. The engine allows 360-degree panoramic video to be stitched together from a number of cameras to a single spherical video, for example in the equirectangular format that can be streamed over the Internet. Thanks to an extremely flexible solution, Voysys can quickly implement support for new cameras and camera rigs.
Voysys solution is based on an initial calibration of each camera rig, and stitching that occurs automatically. This allows live broadcasts to be performed with a minimum of effort and minimal fuss.
Voysys real-time renderer also manages to render virtual screens, images and dynamic information as part of the environment created by the 360-degree video.
Voysys VR video engine can also be used as an advanced VR player, where multiple video sources, interactivity and dynamic information can be flexibly rendered in the user's virtual environment. The player is currently used in industrial applications where machine operators need to recreate their operational environment virtually.
As a complement to its VR player, Voysys has also developed technology for playing equirectangular video on devices with iOS and Android operating systems.
