Yellow Bird established itself on the Swedish as well as the international markets in 2003 when it released a series of television films based on Swedish author Henning Mankell's renowned fictional detective Kurt Wallander.
The success of the initial Wallander films was followed by Stieg Larsson's worldwide phenomenon The Millennium Trilogy, Jo Nesbø’s Headhunters, Liza Marklund's Annika Bengtzon series, the British version of Wallander produced for the BBC, as well as the TV-series Occupied based on an original idea by Jo Nesbø.
Yellow Bird's mission is to produce high-quality drama for the Nordic and International markets, with a Nordic anchoring and a focus on developing projects in collaboration with high-profile talent, authors and scriptwriters.
