Zest - Karlstads Gröna Oas

Zest is a really cozy spot in Karlstad the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable in, and the overall quality of the food, café, and desserts is honestly amazing. That part kept me smiling throughout the visit.nnHowever, there were a couple of things that left me a bit frustrated. I ordered the chicken salad, and when it arrived... no chicken. When I asked about it, the staff told me they simply didn't have any /but here's the thing: nobody mentioned that before or when they served it. They just brought it out as-is without a word. A heads-up would have been really appreciated!nnOn top of that, the service was quite slow when it came to taking our order. Always waited a long time before anyone came, which is a bit of a shame given how lovely the place is.nnAll in all, Zest has a lot going for it, the atmosphere is warm, the food quality is genuinely great, and the desserts are a must. I'd come back, but hopefully with better communication from the staff next time. ½

Delicious food with generous portions, and truly wonderful service!! The staff were really helpful, and made it easy to tailor my meal to my dietary needs. Värmlands hospitality is definitely alive and well here!

The restaurant is super cute and nicely decorated and the staff is very friendly. The food was incredible. Loads of vegan options. Drank the best chai I’ve ever had. It was so creamy and flavorful. The gluten free vegan dumplings were super tasty! Best dumplings ever! The lentil stew was also delicious. Highly recommend this place!!!

I love Zest. I would live there if I could. The staff are consistently friendly & helpful. The food is beautiful, delicious, & healthful. The options are plentiful & the little shop is lovely to browse. I’m vegan & there are always wonderful choices for me. & the atmosphere is so cozy & welcoming. Thank you, Zest! It is more expensive than comparable cafes but it is so worth it in my opinion for a special treat!

I just had a green smoothie and it was absolutely delicious. The decoration is beautiful too. If you want to give a healthy break, this is the right spot for you!nNote: I tried my friend’s salad. It was good but if you’re not a fish lover, salmon might taste a bit too fishy to you cause it’s cold.
