Picture perfect post card veiws! Would definitely recommend the hop on hop off bus, but if you have your hiking boots available, you can climb the hill side for these views.Besøkte stedetPå en ukedagVentetidIngen ventetidForhåndsbestilling anbefalesNei
There were 2 cruise ships in so the climb was busy. We went up via the steep steps and came down a different and less busy way. The view was amazing and there were different look out points.Besøkte stedetPå en ukedagVentetidIngen ventetidForhåndsbestilling anbefalesNei
Aksla is a must-see activity for the more active visitor. The climb towards the top of the mountain takes a lot of stairs and weather conditions aren’t always suitable for a climb. Once on top the view is priceless and worth the effort. Climbing Aksla is free, but standing on the viewing platform of the viewpoint requires payment. If you walk a little further upwards you can get the same view, for free. The viewpoint offers various snacks and hot beverages.
Aksla Viewpoint boasts a fantastic location with stunning views of Ålesund and the fjords. You can reach it by climbing 418 steps or taking a hop-on-hop-off bus tour. Highly recommended for breathtaking scenery and a memorable experience.Besøkte stedetPå en helgedagVentetidIngen ventetidForhåndsbestilling anbefalesNei
Wonderful views from this outlook at the top of mount Aksla in all directions, out to sea and over Alesund. You need to climb 418 steps to reach the top, but these are in a good condition and numbered at intervals so that you know your progress. There are several resting points on the way up where you can take in the views too. At the top there is a restaurant which was closed when we were there, but panoramic views are available. It was a sunny day during our visit with glorious blue skies over the sea. To return you can go back down the steps, or wander down woodland behind on a more gradual return to Alesund itself. At the bottom of the steps is a pleasant park with a statue of Rollo the viking who became the first ruler of Normandy because of links to France.
Great views at the top. Stairs aren't too narrow or steep. Railings are a little low as per my husband that is 6'2 and afraid of heights so they were a little fear inducing. Lots of resting stops. Well worth the climb and visit. There is a cafe at the top where you can access the paid area on the second floor of the cafe for the best views. I got a cinnamon bun there that was about $5 CAD and it actually tasted pretty decent. Otherwise, it's 100 krone to access that area if you don't go through the cafe.
OMG, what a great viewpoint. Only 418 steps to the top and most of them have been renovated in recent years. So whilst the track is steep and zigzagging, it’s not too strenuous and there are many places to stop, look or sit. The views are breathtaking especially at sunset. So worth doing and will be a highlight of your visit!Besøkte stedetPå en helgedagVentetidIngen ventetidForhåndsbestilling anbefalesNei
Fantastic viewpoint, well worth the 440 odd steps to get to the top with plenty of places to sit and rest on the way. Take your time and it is a very enjoyable attraction. There is a local hop on hop off bus ride if you can't face the climb or the descent, and a little road train that also goes up and down. The main area at the top has a cafe and gift shop plus toilets for patron use. There is a small charge to access the main viewing platform we didn't use this. There are several areas at the top where different views are on offer around the Alesund area, so it is worth a bit of an explore once at the top. There are also several trails to explore if you have the time and the energy. We were very lucky with the weather so the views spectacular. Definitely will be back if we visit Alesund again in the future.
What a beautiful place!!! We took the short walk through town to the viewpoint near the cemetery and were so glad we did. The view is breathtaking and such a peaceful place. We sat on a bench and just took it in. It would also be a good spot for a picnic.Besøkte stedetPå en ukedagVentetidIngen ventetidForhåndsbestilling anbefalesNei
